Jason goes to the NICU

Ok so here is part 2 of the birth story. Sacha, Mother and I were home with Jason about 16 hours when we had our first appointment to have Jason checked up on. Needless to say it did not go well!

The nurse took Jason's temp and weight, he had gone from 5 lbs 3 oz to 4 lbs 10 oz and his core body temp was 95 deg. After a quick call to Dr. Eckert we were escorted to Evergreen's Neo-Natal ICU and Jason was admitted! Poor baby was cold and hungry! We had the BEST nurse there Sheri who took charge and did everything for us! She also talked us through everything they were going to do!
Sacha and I left Jason and my mother at the NICU and went home to get another over night bag ( and have a good cry that Jason was back in the hospital!)
It turns out that was the best place for Jason!!! He never had a IV or was given any medicine, just heated up and given formula until I was able to produce milk.
Sacha had to dash off to work so Mother and I stayed in the room and took naps, and fed the baby! Sacha rushed back to the hospital in time to feed Jason a bottle! It was the first time Daddy fed the baby!!! There were lots of smiles and yes Mommy cried! Sacha and Mother decided that I needed to get out and away from the hospital for a while, so mother and I went to Olive Garden for dinner. It was nice to get out of the hospital I must say!

On Friday June 6th we were able to take Jason home for good! It was SO cold in the PNW that we cranked the heat up and turned on the fire place!

On Saturday June 7th, Sacha got what we now call his first Daddy day! Mother and I went out to find a few things we would need for the baby and Sacha and Jason bonded!
